Thousands of people visited Newcastle’s Christmas Market as it returned for the festive season.
Market stalls selling street food, festive drinks and gifts have been set up on Grey’s Monument, Grainger Street and Old Eldon Square.
They opened to the public on Saturday and will remain in Newcastle city centre until December 23.
A 10metre illuminated Christmas tree has been put up in the middle of Old Eldon Square alongside a large ‘#NCL’ sign. Each stall is decorated with a festive garland and sparkly lights.
Workers, dressed as giant robins, also posed for pictures with visitors.
As part of Newcastle’s Christmas, live entertainment is being provided at Grey’s Monument each weekend during the run-up to Christmas.
The market is open between 10am and 8pm Monday to Saturday and between 10am and 5pm on Sundays.
