Ellie Leach has been left in tears by Strictly Come Dancing pro partner Vito Coppola, after he posted an heartfelt message on Instagram on Wednesday night. And her emotional reaction comes as more and more fans are convinced the couple can win the show this year.
As far as Strictly debuts go, Ellie made a very impressive one last month, as the ex Coronation Street star and Italian dancer Vito got everyone to sit up and notice with their first week jive, earning an impressive 29 out of 30 for their jive and, since then, their partnership has gone from strength to strength.
Having earned their highest score so far a week earlier for a powerful paso doble to Faithless’ Insomnia, Ellie and Vito then topped the leaderboard on Saturday night, on a near perfect score of 38 out of 40, fuelling fan predictions that they could go on and take the Strictly have emerged as this year’s ‘dark horses’ for victory.

And the growing support for him and Ellie has not gone un-noticed by Vito, who, on Wednesday, posted a video on Instagram in which he expressed his gratitude for all the kindness shown to him, having left all his family and friends behind in Italy to become a Strictly pro and also praised Ellie, who he referred to as ‘my Lulu,’ for all her hard work so far, adding: “You are doing great, baby.”
He captioned the video: “Just THANK YOU. Sorry for repeating the same thing more times, but this is the only way I have to show you all my gratitude and How thankful I am.” Among the many people to react to Vito’s post was Ellie herself, who responded: “love you love you love you,
Taking things further, the 22-year-old then shared Vito’s video on her own Insta story and, revealing she’d been left in tears by what he said, wrote: “Honestly, I’m crying watching this…,” adding: “This man amazed me EVERY SINGLE DAY. The hard work, commitment and love that he puts into every aspect of his life is so inspiring and I’m SO lucky to dance with him every single say.” She added: “@vitocoppola you are one special human and thank you to YOU!”
