Stacey Solomon‘s plans to have an extension built at her Essex mansion was rejected by the council, according to reports.
The Loose Women panellist, 33, and her husband Joe Swash, 41, reportedly applied for permission to build a single-storey extension at their £1.3 million family home, but the council denied the couple’s plans as their property dates back to the 16th century and the council is keen for it to not be modified.
Documents allegedly show Stacey and Joe initially applied for planning permission in February 2022, but their plea was rejected. The couple’s second application was reportedly denied five weeks ago, reports The Sun.
OK! has contacted Stacey Solomon’s representative for comment.
Stacey and Joe moved into Pickle Cottage in 2021 and the mum-of-five has spent the last two years completely transforming the property.
She’s documented the entire renovation on her Instagram account, which boasts over 5 million followers, and in her book, Tap to Tidy at Pickle Cottage.
The star is famed for her savvy DIY hacks and household tricks, having completed much of the work at her home herself.
Stacey and Joe, who got married at their beloved home last year, now share six children between them following the birth of their daughter Belle in February 2023, and also have two pet dogs, Peanut and Teddy.
The couple share son Rex, three, along with daughters Rose, one, and three month old Belle. Stacey is also mum to sons Zachary, 15, and Leighton, 10, from previous relationships, while Joe shares son Harry, 15, with ex Emma Sophocleous.
Stacey and Joe’s hopes of extending their home may be down to their expanding brood, as the TV personality revealed last month that son Rex has already outgrown his room while Belle and Rose are set to share a bedroom.
She explained on Instagram: “It makes more sense for the girls to share & Rex to have his own room! Also Rex has outgrown pandas so I’m glad I did it all on a budget.
“Now I can swap them over and bring the bits I love from each room over and change Rex’s theme.”
