
More than 30 years after seven-year-old schoolgirl Nikki Allan was murdered, her killer was today found guilty.
Nikki vanished on October 7, 1992, on the short walk home from her grandfather Dickie’s flat in Wear Garth. The following day, her shoes are spotted outside the derelict Quayside Exchange building in High Street East, just yards from the Garths. Her body was found lying in a pool of blood inside.
Since that day, Nikki’s mum, Sharon Henderson, has been desperately searching for answers. Now, David Boyd, 55, has finally been convicted of her murder at Newcastle Crown Court.
Today we look back at the 31-year timeline which has finally lead to Boyd being found guilty of Nikki’s murder.
