The Magpies were dealt another injury blow in their 3-0 win over Manchester United in the Carabao Cup
Newcastle United head into their Premier League clash with Arsenal with a fresh injury headache to Matt Targett. The Magpies left-back was withdrawn from the field after less than two minutes in the 3-0 win over Manchester United and Eddie Howe fears the left-back could be out for some time.
The Toon are already without Elliot Anderson, Harvey Barnes, Lewis Miley, Sven Botman, Alexander Isak, Jacob Murphy and Sandro Tonali for the clash with the Gunners this weekend. Mikel Arteta’s side have injury problems of their own with Gabriel Jesus, Thomas Partey, Jurrien Timber and Emile Smith- Rowe all doubts for the trip to St. James’ Park.
A win for Howe’s side this weekend would see them take a step towards closing the gap to the Champions League places as well as getting one over their top-four rivals.
