Fresh from Halloween celebrations with her sister Molly-Mae Hague, brother in law Tommy Fury and sweet baby Bambi, Zoe Hague, 27, is looking ahead to her very own celebratory plans next summer – her wedding to longterm military fiancé, Danny Rae.
The pair, who met in the Army gym while working as personal trainers have been engaged since April 2022, are in the middle of prepping for their big day – with Zoe set to make final plans alone as her man heads off for a six-month tour duty in December.
In an exclusive chat with OK! she said: “The wedding is next July and luckily we’ve done pretty much everything in advance of Danny going – I just need to sort the guestlist. I’m going to try to keep it to a minimum, not every Tom, Dick and Harry are coming.”
“Danny will wear his military uniform and we’ll also have a nod to the military with eight soldiers doing a wedding guard of honour, too. We’re two peas in a pod.”
A wedding guard of honour is an arch of swords to commemorate the newly wedded couple and involves the bride and groom walking beneath it as they leave the service.
With the groom’s outfit sorted, it still left Zoe with her dream dress to find – something that she has just managed to solve at long last this week.
Zoe – who has signed a five-figure deal with Pretty Little Thing – took to Instagram this week to tell her 298k fans that she has found her dress at long last, saying: “I went dress shopping again. I wasn’t 100% sold on any before and you’ll be pleased to know a dress has been purchased. I’m so pleased and relieved.”
She told us: “It’s really hard work and a real pressure,” she said. “I wasn’t feeling 100% excited about the wedding because I couldn’t find the dress and it had actually become more of a chore. It’s made out to be such an emotional thing but I hadn’t put on one dress that made me feel that way yet.
“Molly and mum helped me find it because I can trust them to be honest, but I’m not the type to cry when I see a dress – I just don’t feel that way.”
With another job ticked off the list before Danny leaves for work, talk soon turned to her sister Molly Mae and her important role at the summer wedding.
“Molly will of course be a bridesmaid and Bambi will be a flower girl. She’ll be walking by then too, which will be so lovely, and then at night there will be no children. I think it’s nice for parents to let their hair down.”
Zoe’s former Army career has been the perfect base for her newest passion as ambassador for Hyrox – an intense global fitness race combining 8km runs with specific exercises every 1km. The sport has been rapidly growing in popularity since 2019 and now Zoe is competing alongside her fiancé.
“It’s like a giant circuit that anyone can do. With CrossFit it’s quite technical – you couldn’t just jump into that- whereas with Hyrox if you have a basic level of fitness you can join in. It’s great for endurance and inclusivity.”
Zoe’s new coach has her on an intense training programme, working out daily. “It’s the first time in a long time that I’ve actually stuck to training. I don’t want to let myself, or my coach, down. It’s the most addictive sport. I’ve done swimming, running, triathlons, but nothing compares to this. I’ve never felt so nervous.
“It can massively change your lifestyle – it might be £100 a ticket to compete but we would spend that on a night out before. It’s a healthy obsession.”
With intense training and competitions, we couldn’t help but wonder if Zoe was concerned her changing shape would affect her wedding dress nine months away.
She laughed: “I don’t want to change loads but I definitely have a goal of what I want to look like. With Danny going away it’s slightly a good thing because I can focus on my fitness and nutrition.”
Zoe joined the Army when she was 22. She trained as a medic after finding out that the infantry wasn’t open to women – a rule that has since changed but always knew she’d join some sort of uniform job after watching her parents as police offers growing up. She admitted that life is “really happy outside of the military now” and that her time is her own.
“While Danny’s away I’m just going to keep myself super busy. I’m going to enter Hyrox competitions here, there and everywhere. They’re all over the world so I can make little holidays out of it, too.
“Whenever Tommy is away in boxing camp and Danny’s away with work, I basically move in with Molly.”
With big plans to compete at The Elite 15 – the world’s best athletes with the top 15 fastest times – Zoe’s newfound influencer career is positive and inspiring. “It’s a big goal and I have a lot on my plate, but I believe it’s 100% achievable in the next few years.”
