He and 41 year old wife Zara – who is Princess Anne’s daughter – went out for dinner with the Princess Royal and her husband Timothy Lawrence – as well as Prince Andrew and his daughters Beatrice and Eugenie – at a private club in Mayfair.
And sources said the Tindalls continued their evening at the nearby Arts Club before leaving at 2am.
Speaking about the evening out on Good Morning Britain, Mike said: “It was nice to have a little date night. When you’ve got three children, it’s not always easy to have a little bit of time together to have a drink and chat.”
As host Adil Ray suggested some people would have skipped a late night on the eve of a big day, Mike joked: “I always say never worry about tomorrow, just focus on the moment and you can worry about tomorrow later.”
Mike and Zara attended the Coronation of King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla without a problem on Saturday – with the pair also making an appearance at the special concert in Windsor Castle on Sunday.
Despite the 2am finish on the eve of the Coronation, Zara looked elegant and fresh-faced for the historic occasion.
She wore a blue and white custom dress by designer Laura Green for the ceremony – paired with 18ct white gold earrings by jeweller Calleija, which retail at a whopping £29,900. Mike matched the dress with his blue tie.
Zara stunned in a green ensemble, accessorised with a luxurious black Chanel handbag, as she arrived on the lawn of Windsor Castle arm in arm with her husband. Mike wore a black velvet jacket with a green pocket square to match Zara’s look.
The Tindalls are considered to be among the most popular and down-to-earth Royals.
Mike proved to be a hit with I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! viewers when he appeared on the reality show last year.
During his time in the jungle, he opened up on how he met Zara in Sydney when the 2003 Rugby World Cup was being played.
He also discussed the pair’s alcohol-fuelled first date, which was a local lunch.
Mike said: “It ended up being quite a boozy one. And we figured out we both like getting smashed, so…It was a good start.”
The rugby star went on to finish fourth on the reality show – narrowly missing out on the final.
