Meghan Markle has hired a bodyguard previously employed by Kim Kardashian, it has emerged.
The guard, sporting some slick shades, was spotted trailing behind her and two friends on her hike near the Duchess’s spectacular abode in Montecito, California, just hours after skipping the Coronation for her father-in-law King Charles.
According to The Sun, the unnamed man previously served as a bodyguard for the popular reality TV star, 42, both before and after the shocking armed robbery incident in Paris in 2016, where £7 million of jewellery was stolen at her Paris hotel.
Another of Kim’s former bodyguards, Steve Stanulis, said: “These are guys who come from a small pool of elite bodyguards, from either police or military backgrounds.
“Usually if a guy is good enough to work for high-profile stars, it’s not unusual for them to be sought-after.”

Steve, now a filmmaker, added: “Kim’s security will be paramount. It’s no different for Harry and Meghan — they are world-famous and equally as vulnerable.”
Prince Harry, 38, and Meghan recently made the decision to swap up their security personnel, after previously employing a guard who had worked for the late Michael Jackson.
It’s unsurprising that the couple are seeking the best of the best when it comes to security. Assistant Commissioner Neil Basu, the former head of counter-terrorism for the Metropolitan Police, expressed in November last year, that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex faced abhorrent and genuinely credible threats to their lives from the far-right . Basu described these threats as “disgusting” and emphasized their serious nature.

He told Channel 4’s Cathy Newman : “If you’d seen the stuff that was written and you were receiving it — the kind of rhetoric that’s online, if you don’t know what I know, you would feel under threat all of the time.”
Royal expert Jennie Bond spoke exclusively to OK! about the comments, stating: “it’s the first time we’ve heard of concrete threats against Meghan particularly. I don’t think it’s unusual for members of the royal family to receive threats. But this level of threat clearly was out of the ordinary.”
Jennie continued: “The language he used was extraordinary. And when you read some of the things they were saying, it was disgusting. It was racial abuse. So it does give us further understanding of Meghan’s unhappiness, her state of mind receiving threats like this, and of Harry’s enormous drive to protect her.
“I mean, some people might have thought that it was exaggerated his claims that he was watching his wife suffer in the same way and under the same pressures as Diana. But clearly there was a serious level of abuse directed and threats directed at Megan.”
