Janet Street-Porter has opened up on a ‘painful’ battle she’s facing away from Loose Women, admitting she’d been left ‘exhausted’ ahead of appearing on the show.
A long member of the ITV programme’s cast, journalist Janet was back on the panel on Tuesday, to join host Christine Lampard and colleagues Coleen Nolan and Brenda Edwards, for an episode which saw her being vocal with her opinions on Nigel Farage’s row with Fred Siriex on I’m A Celebrity, before talk turned to the panel’s problems with getting a good night’s sleep.
Coleen has shared her battle with insomnia on numerous occasions over the last year, having previously kept her frustrating and exhausting issues a ‘secret’ from her Loose Women co-stars and, during a discussion on a similar theme, it was Janet who first to speak up on what she was going through. Detailing her current battle, he ex I’m A Celebrity contestant explained: “I’ve had so little sleep the late few days; I’ve got pains in my knees and all my joints are stiffening up – I can’t even jump out of bed in the morning!”
Janet conceded that what is making matters worse that her other half has no problem drifting of to sleep, so has no idea of the pain she’s experiencing while he’s fast asleep, as she added: “I ask him ‘how did you sleep last night?’ and he says ‘perfectly..’ I want to kill him!”
The topic of getting enough sleep and how couples are reportedly being ‘competitive’ about who gets the most, was brought about by What Not To Wear star Susanna Constantine’s admission that she and her husband have rowed over who has the least sleep and who snores the loudest and longest, due to what she described as her ‘ground shaking, double bass’ snoring.
