Loose Women’s Denise Welch left ‘startled’ by TV boss’ Northumberland link to her family

Denise Welch was left ‘startled’ on finding out her former boss on Hollyoaks had an ‘unbelievable’ link to her family in Northumberland, revealing all on the bizarre coincidence during her latest appearance on Loose Women.

While she was noticeably absent from the ITV show’s Halloween special on Tuesday, claiming she’s been ‘snubbed’ by bosses every year, Geordie star Denise was back on the panel for its third episode of the week on Wednesday, joining host Kaye Adams and colleagues Jane Moore and Kelle Bryan.

Although the Loose Women celebrated Halloween a day earlier, there was still stalk of spooky goings on, as Kaye quizzed the panel on any strange coincidences they’d experienced that stopped them in their tracks. And, it was then that Denise spilled the beans on something that happened on the Hollyoaks set, during her time on the Channel 4 soap.

Opening up on the strange coincidence she never saw coming, Denise explained: “I was talking to the then producer, Lucy and she said ‘Oh, I saw on your (Instagram) stories that you’d been in Hedley’ and I said yeah yeah yeah, my sister lives there. And she said ‘I know Hedley’.”

Things then took a turn when Denise showed her Hollyoaks boss a photo of her sister’s house and was left in shock when Lucy recognised it as the house she was born in, with Denise exclaiming: “She wasn’t just from that village; she was born in that house…so it does make you go a bit woo-woo doesn’t it?”

The coincidences involving Denise’s family on Wednesday’s Loose Women didn’t stop there, as Jane Moore handed her a tin her mother had been using to store old photos, which turned out to be one from Denise’s grandad’s sweet business in Whitley Bay.
