Soon to be mum-of-two Kate Ferdinand appears to have finally caught a moment to breathe a sigh of relief following a terrifying week that saw her two-year-old son Cree rushed to A&E.
The former TOWIE star, 31, has since shared several sweet pics which show her cuddling up to her little boy – whom she shares with footballer husband Rio Ferdinand, 44 – after he suffered a severe elbow injury last week.
Reality favourite Kate – who is currently expecting her second child with her sportsman hubby – took to Instagram on Tuesday to share the mother-son bonding time in a new post.
The heart-warming photo showed the doting mum holding her son in her arms, the pair both wearing the pyjamas.
Kate – who earlier this week admitted she felt like a “side-chick” whilst first dating her husband – opened up about Cree’s terrifying ordeal on her podcast Blended last week, where she revealed that he had to spend two days in hospital, before having to be rushed back in after his cast got wet.
Admitting she couldn’t stop crying as she watched her son in pain, Kate shared that Cree’s elbow had been pulled out of its socket by another child.
The situation then worsened when they returned home and Cree needed to be bathed.
However, this was rather difficult as doctors had advised that his hand couldn’t get wet, but despite Kate, and husband Rio’s, best efforts, the hand became soaked.
Recalling the scary experience, Kate said: “I’d been quite strong up until this moment and I just burst into tears and we ended up back in A&E that night because I’d bloody soaked the hand.
‘I felt like a terrible mum. How had they given me one instruction to not get the hand wet, and I’d got the f***ing hand wet.”
She added: “I just burst into tears. I couldn’t stop crying. But that feels like a lifetime ago now.”
Cree had another hospital dash earlier this year after he broke his finger in a “freak accident”.
Posting to her Instagram page Kate shared a snap of her little boy in hospital, as he lay under blankets with a bandage and cast on his forefinger.
The two-year-old youngster was wearing a cartoon print hospital gown and had an array of animal stickers on his bandage to cheer him up.
“Sorry for the radio silence,” Kate began in her story. “My poor baby had a freak accident on Tuesday & ended up breaking a bone in his finger and then needed nail bed surgery.
“I’m a complete emotional wreck mumma right now,” the star said.
