As he was speaking on the show, he said that he was waiting to go on Davina’s BBC Radio 2 programme when Hannah text him to let him know they are having a baby just as Davina walked back into the room.
Joel told the Loose Women: “I haven’t really said this before. We found out – I was about to be on Radio 2 with Davina McCall, and we were about to go out that night with Davina.
“Hannah sent me a message saying, ‘I’m pregnant.’ I said, ‘Oh my God!’ And then Davina walked in and I was like… Ahhh! She’s like, ‘What’s wrong?’ I’m like, ‘Hannah’s pregnant!’
“So Davina was the first person that found out. I told Davina before I told my mum!”
Hannah and Joel took to Instagram last week to share their baby news.
The couple posted two sets of black and white photo booth snaps, as Hannah wrote in the caption: “Does anyone know how to change a nappy?”
She then joked: “Because Joel has s**t himself.”
The Masked Singer presenter tied the knot with Hannah in Mykonos, Greece in 2019, after almost three years of dating.
The pair first got together after connecting on social media as he told the Loose Women panel previously: “We met on Instagram. She sent me a cat emoji with the heart eyes.
“That is the modern equivalent of the old phrase ‘you had me at hello,’ now it’s ‘you had me at cat emoji’.”
Speaking to OK! shortly after getting married, Joel shared his and Hannah’s baby plans and said that they wanted to wait a couple of years before starting a family.
“I think we’re just going to chill for a couple of years and see what happens,” he said at the time.
He added: “We’re in no rush to push it forward. I’m genuinely just really enjoying myself and I feel very lucky. Hopefully we’ll continue on that streak.”
While Joel first found fame on Skins in 2007, he has gone to become a familiar face on TV after he became the host of The Masked Singer back in 2019.
