Jamie Lynn-Spears made a brief exit from I’m A Celebrity on Monday night, after becoming homesick following an emotional chat about her family, including famous sister Britney.
A rather controversial signing for I’m A Celebrity 2023, given the hatred towards her from Britney fans, Jamie-Lynn was one of the last stars confirmed for the new series of the hit ITV show and was seen for the first time on screen during Sunday’s launch show, when, not only was she forced to skydive as her introduction to life in the jungle, but also took part in the first trial of the series, alongside Marvin Humes and Nick Pickard, before going into camp to meet her co-stars.
After failing to mention Britney in either her intro VT or during a chat with Josie Gibson, who quizzed her on her ‘musical family’, Jamie-Lynn did talk about the Slave 4 U singer, although not by name, after Fred Siriex took an interest in her life back in America. While admitting that ‘all families fight,’ Jamie-Lynn told Fred that she had spoken to her older sibling before jetting off to Australia and that they ‘love each other.’

Jamie-Lynn was close to tears as she then spoke about her own hardships in the entertainment industry, including how she was branded a ‘s**t’ after getting pregnant at 16, while playing the lead on hit US show Zoey 101, and was ‘shunned’ by some of those closest to her, after deciding to keep the baby.
Clearly still emotional after her chat with Fred, Jamie-Lynn was seen walking out of camp to gather her thoughts and, after bumping into Danielle Harold, conceded she was “missing her kids” as the two shared a hug. Arriving back in camp, Danielle suggested someone run a bath for Jamie-Lynn, which she enjoyed while being serenaded by Marvin.
Jamie-Lynn’s brief exit from camp came hours after it was reported ITV bosses were on ‘high alert’ for her quitting the show. A source claimed: “The entry trials for I’m A Celebrity are notoriously tough and Jamie wasn’t the only one who struggled through the challenges.”
They added: “But away from the cameras and scenes that aired on TV, it’s her behaviour in camp that has become obvious to crew. She has kept herself somewhat separate, not really socialising — and stayed in bed.”
