Danielle Harold is already fuelling predictions that she could cause a huge ‘upset’ on I’m A Celebrity this year, after the EastEnders sar impressed viewers no end during Sunday night’s launch.
Award winning actress Danielle had BBC viewers in floods of tears earlier this year, when her character Lola Pearce, bowed out of the Albert Square set soap in truly tragic scenes, following a brave battle with a terminal brain tumour. Danielle’s performance as Lola, as well as coming in for huge praise for soap fans across the country, earned her one of the top accolades of the night at this year’s National Television Awards.
And now, after Danielle showed great courage to take on the terrifying Pole Position challenge as I’m A Celebrity returned on Sunday, odds on her winning the ITV show this year have tumbled significantly, putting her now right in the mix with early frontrunners like hot favourite Josie Gibson, as well as Sam Thompson and Fred Siriex. Danielle impressed fans and experts so much with her showing in the launch episode, that bookies William Hill now have her as second favourite, behind only This Morning host Joe, having not been anywhere near the top of the betting headiong into the new series.

Assessing Danielle’s popularity and the change in the odds, William, Hill spokesperson Lee Phelps, said: “There’s only one name on punters’ lips after the first episode of I’m A Celeb and that’s Danielle Harold. The EastEnders actress was very popular during and after Sunday night’s show and having been 7/1 prior to it, she’s now the second favourite at 7/2. Fred Siriex has also been well backed at 6/1, while Nigel Farage hasn’t gone down well and is out to 7/1 from 9/2.”
As well as now being firmly in the running for I’m A Celebrity victory with bookmakers, Danielle got a VERY favourable reaction on social media on her I’m A Celebrity debut with some fans already identifying her as their winner. Thinking just that, one took to X (Twitter) to post: “She’s totally likeable and did the first trial without screaming and not acting up in front of the camera. This year might be too predictable because our Danielle Harold is already a clear potential winner!”
Echoing those sentiments, a second wrote: “Picking Danielle as this years winner,” a a third reacted: “I’m calling Danielle as the winner already”
