The star only announced her shock exit from the popular daytime programme last week, 23 years after joining the show way back in 2000.
The 63-year-old has now blasted “woke” show bosses after initially saying she had “stepped back” due to “unjust” contract disputes.
When Carol appeared on GB News on Tuesday she didn’t hold back when host Dan Wootton asked her about the “general wokery” at Loose Women.
Carol replied: “Well put it this way, reading all the comments from the article at the weekend there are a lot of people who think the programme has gone very, very woke.”
Dan said: “I feel that as a viewer. I don’t watch any more.” Carol then replied: “Well, neither do I.”
Later on in the appearance Carol said “it’s not just ITV” that she felt this about.
“You just don’t have to keep forcing this stuff down peoples’ throats, it’s not just ITV, the BBC is probably worse actually,” she added.
Carol explained that ITV is “not a place where I feel I fit in”. As the interview came to an end, Dan said that Carol’s exit from the programme was “the loss of woke ITV”.
Carol laughed as she replied: “You might say that but I can’t possibly comment.”
Initially Carol had blasted ITV bosses for what she claimed was a “totally unjust” contract dispute.
When ITV were contacted about this, a spokesperson told OK!: “ITV will not comment on or disclose details of individual contracts but all ITV contracts comply with the relevant external legislation.”
HMRC changes in 2021 mean that the responsibility for assessing whether a role is employed or self-employed for tax purposes now sits with employers – leading companies including ITV to review their existing contracts.
However, it seems Carol also suspects that her controversial views of the Covid pandemic played into the outcome.
Carol shared a thinking face emoji on Twitter as she quote-tweeted an article with the headline: “Loose Women star Carol McGiffin quit show over COVID conspiracy views.”
