Bobby Brazier is facing an ‘uphill battle’ to stay in Strictly Come Dancing, having been condemned to the dance-off for the first time at the weekend.
As soon as he was confirmed as a contestant for the new series of the BBC show, hot on the heels of winning the Rising Star accolade at this year’s National Television Awards, EastEnders star Bobby was made the red hot favourite to snatch the Glitterball trophy, with his position as frontrunner then cemented after he was paired by fan favourite pro and former finalist Dianne Buswell.
Sadly for the pair, while they had never been anywhere near the bottom of the leaderboard heading into Blackpool, their run of safety came to an abrupt end on Sunday night, when they dropped into the danger zone, much to the shock of many fans sat inside the Tower Ballroom and those watching at home.

Bobby and Dianne scored 35 our of 40 a night earlier for their Jive to Wham classic Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go but that wasn’t enough to keep them out of trouble after the public vote. And although they were saved by the judges in a unanimous vote, and them being in the dance-off caused plenty of controversy, bookies are now sure that, in a surprising turn of vents, Bobby’s days on Strictly could be numbered.
Odds from online betting experts OLBG put Bobby as the runaway favourite to be the next celebrity to be given the Strictly boot, before his song and dance for this Saturday’s live show has even been confirmed. At the time of writing on Monday afternoon, he was at 1/3 to go next, similar odds to Angela Rippon before her exit.
Behind him on 3/1 is Angela Scanlon, despite her getting her best score to date on Saturday night, with Annabel Croft third in the next elimination odds on 7/1, after she equalled her personal best of 35 out of 40.
