Callum Wilson and Alexander Isak could eventually be in line to start together for Newcastle United against Arsenal today – and that’s exactly what Magpies fans want to see.
Eddie Howe has more big decisions to make today for what is a mouthwatering Premier League clash against Mikel Arteta’s Gunners. Sean Longstaff and Allan Saint-Maximin have a chance of being involved after recovering from injuries, although whether they are deemed fit enough remains to be seen.
But the main focus comes up front, with Wilson’s half-time substitute appearance against Southampton changing the game last week. With Isak moving to a wide left position, the pair cut open the Saints’ defence, with Wilson scoring twice and the Swede heavily involved.
We asked United fans to pick their starting XI for today’s game, and they’ve kept that attacking line up, with Miguel Almiron prefered to Jacob Murphy on the right. Longstaff gets the nod over Joe Willock in midfield, with the former Arsenal man likely to start should Longstaff remain sidelined.
At the back, it’s the familiar four in front of Nick Pope, which means no place for Matt Targett after his start in the 4-1 win at Everton. We’ll have all the team news from 3.30pm today – and you can follow all the action in our matchday live blog.
Newcastle United fans XI to face Arsenal: Pope; Trippier, Schar, Botman, Burn; Longstaff, Guimaraes, Joelintonn; Almiron, Isak, Wilson.
